Over the last four years, METAhub focused on places in Frankfurt. Now, the Mapping Offenbach Lab looks beyond the city's borders. In February 2024, the city of Offenbach and its Jewish history were explored. Together with digital artists, creative coders, AI and VR researchers, and experts in digital memory culture, METAhub for the first time drew lines of connection between places in the Rhine-Main area: What remains today of the places that once were architectural signs of Jewish participation in Offenbach's civic society? Can experimental digital spaces and projects contribute to memory politics?

Vanessa Opoku, Gloria Schulz, Ben Livne Weitzman, the Working Group for Extraordinary Input and Output Media, creative coders, and researchers from the fields of architecture and design from the Mainz University of Applied Sciences, together with Michael Lenarz (Jewish Museum Frankfurt, Max Dienemann / Salomon Formstecher Society) and Jeanne Charlotte Vogt (NODE Association for the Promotion of Digital Culture) pursued these questions and developed prototypes for digital experimental VR and AR projects, ideas for digital applications, and educational formats that are now being presented and tested.

Location: Judengasse Museum, Battonnstraße 47
