Samuel ben Eliezer

Samuel ben Eliezer came from Friedberg and was chief rabbi of Frankfurt from 1600 to 1609. His son was married to the daughter of his predecessor, Abraham Naftali Herz Halevi. He lived in the house Eichel, the rabbis' official residence.
During his term of office, the 1603 Rabbinical Congress was held, attended by representatives of the major German Jewish communities.
